This wonderful early 18th Century Posy Ring bears a sweet romantic inscription: "I Desire to Deserve"

a couple of very minor nibbles to the girdle of the sapphire

with triangular facets on the pavilion designed to accentuate the shimmering orange colour play as it moves in the light

and it's remarkably well preserved
